The back of your mind sounds a warning, and you're scrambling to leave this place before you know what you're doing. In your rush to leave, your feet lose purchase on the uneven ground, tripping over loose stones. You fall forward, looking up to see the endless sinewy body of a spiral, damp and dripping and crimson. Bones glint in the gaps, tucked away behind bandages.

She smiles, but her expression is not one of kindness.

"You were warned to leave this place."

You want to explain that you are trying. But she circles around you, contemplating. Blood seeps through the bandages, fresh and wet.

"Now that you are here, perhaps you should stay for dinner."

Ghouls vary in intelligence. At their most sophisticated, they appear as regular dragons, capable of speech and a limited capacity for reasoning and discussion. They often adorn their bodies with trinkets made of bones and feathers. They may also wear bandages, although it is unclear to what extent this is a fashion decision rather than one of practicality, given the raw state of their seemingly exposed flesh.
