Standing before you, filling your field of vision, is an enormous guardian who appears to have been flayed down to his muscles and bones. You can see the sinew and striation of marbled flesh, the way it ripples with each step forward. But you cannot make sense of what you're seeing. Surely no one could survive like that...much less move with such grace, and power, and speed?

He closes the gap, moving swiftly and fluidly toward you, and before you know what's happened he is upon you. The bone chimes in his wings gently sway. He smells like fresh meat and warm coppery blood, and when he speaks, it's in a low growl.

"You'd best move along from this place...my children have a hunger."

You don't need him to tell you twice.
