Esmee is well suited to investigative research-- of everything, owing to her mutation. Her eyes steam with a clarifying saline that highlights any systemic anomaly. Everyone and everything is data, brightly shining. But her appreciation is not antisocial, it's mathematical. What of the slant symmetry of music? The quantum physics of fairytales? What, indeed. And yet very rarely, sometimes, she wishes it didn't all burn in such awfully sharp relief.


"The doctor and his creature's spawn are something of an evolutionary entertainment-- if you practice proper lab safety, of course. Their strain of poisonous opal is an advanced form of gembond, in-demand by everyone from exotic chefs to the more humble assassin.
