Teiljo

Teiljo loves collecting strange and wonderful things. As long as they’re shiny. He has a huge hoard of stuff, that he never shares with anyone else. He doesn’t even let other dragons close to his hoard. Sadly, his collection has garnered quite the attention, and unwanted visitors come from far and wide to, ‘take a look’, so to speak. Teiljo obviously isn’t having it, and ever after getting his first burglar, he has taken to the habit of stealing from thieves that try to enter his hoard. And he’s quite successful too, having an entire section of his hoard dedicated to the things he stole from dragons that were trying to steal from him.

This night, another one tried to break in. Teiljo sees the burglar way before they even get close to the hoard. “Don’t you have something better to do, kid? Like, getting an actual job?”, he grunts as he corners the burglar into one of his traps. The dragon spits on the ground and replies: “You can share some of those riches with everybody else, there are families here struggling to get by.” Teiljo shrugs. “Not my problem.”, he says as he looks the thief over. The dragon, a small Mirror, is wearing quite the pretty and shiny mask. “I will let you go, and not call any guards, if you hand over your mask.”, he tells the Mirror, who snarls in disgust, put peels the mask off their face either way. “You can have it, just don’t wear it on a full moon.”

Those words still echo in Teiljo’s head, even a week later. And what’s more interesting, there’s a full moon tonight. Teiljo doesn’t really believe the burglar, or any burglar for that matter, and sits on his balcony, with the mask in his paws. He feels it growing colder, and heavier, as the sun sets, but that won’t stop him. As soon as the moon is fully risen, Teiljo puts on the mask. His head feels light all of a sudden, and then…
