Even though Iggy was born and raised in the Ashfall Wastes, they had always felt a draw towards the Arcane. This led them to apprentice at the Magma Sanctum, and eventually across the world towards the Oculus of the Eleven itself. Somewhere along the way, they struck up a relationship with another dragon, Kestrel, and dragged him along on their adventures.

The two of them eventually settled at the Scriptorium, where a delighted Iggy found a vast hoard of materials just waiting to be melted and fused and blown up and so on. Their alchemy is a constant frenzy of aimless experimentation, flitting from project to project, eager to make the next big breakthrough. Iggy is always eager to chat about what they're working on to other dragons... but just as eager to work alone.

What drives Iggy is a mystery to most other Scriptorium researchers. None of the other dragons can match their fervor, nor their breakneck pace. If only they listened to anyone else's directions and channeled that alchemical skill towards something useful! But, alas, Iggy seems to exist in a world all their own. Some whisper that their work with toxic chemicals has addled their brain - some revere Iggy as a new level of genius. All fear that they will be the next test subject roped into a new explosive experiment.
