It's hard to blame the one you love for the curse afflicted upon oneself. Though not originally from the Starwood Strand, it has claimed a hold upon Proteus. From his scales sprouts the opalescent bark of the very trees he and his partner had used to fuel vivid visions of history. More, he thought to himself, more power to reach the very limits of time itself. Could that really be done? "Of course it can," his Leonid taunts, "why would you reject such a tantalizing offer?" The branches sprout new leaves and shed their trail upon the land, marking where the two Wildclaws had journeyed.

STORY
Proteus never told anyone about his powers. Not his parents, not the other Wildclaw who ran away, chasing visions. Everything, he kept to himself, and it ate away at him slowly. During his nights in Dragonhome, he'd see what the stars had to offer him: visions of his ancestors settling where the magic of the earth ran high, visions of an old acquaintance wandering a beautiful blue forest, visions of meeting another coping with the ability to see the past, present, and future... But it wasn't here. Not in the Parched Canyonwalks.
He left without a word, heading towards the land rich in Arcane magic- the very same he had an affinity with. It's funny, to be born to the earth yet reach towards the sky to channel your powers. There, he had hoped to reunite with that very same purple Wildclaw━ to make friends━ and then await the arrival of another powerful Seer. Leonid arrived, sure enough. As it turns out, both of them had foretold their meeting. Were they soulmates, or was this all just a matter of circumstance? Neither of them could see much more about each other past their point of meeting. That was all shrouded in mystery. "Don't think of it as a curse, darling, the Starwood has left its mark upon us as a blessing." Leonid might see the bark upon their scales as a positive, but Proteus sees it as nothing more than a loss of freedom. He loved flying around the Starwood Strand, floating among the stars he so desperately wanted more of. No longer could he enjoy such an activity.
