Noctiluca's fishing methods aren't unlike dragons who originate from the sea themselves. She prefers a hands-on approach, diving into the seas around the Starfall Isles to fetch the slimy creatures with her bare paws. Not being a piscivore herself, she dares not use her teeth to grab what will feed the other members of the Skyward Watchers━ the taste of fish is repulsive. She heads out every day as the sun sets and rises over the horizon with her best friend and fellow fisherman, Luciferin, to bring back hauls and keep her clan fed and happy.

STORY
When she arrived in Sornieth from her spacefaring adventures, Noctiluca was immediately enamored by the waves and sounds of the ocean. She couldn't hold herself back from diving in and learning first handedly that the sea was teeming with life! Noctiluca resolved to become a fisher upon hearing how some dragons who favored the taste of the water didn't actually like the act of getting fish themselves. This is how she could help people, she thought.
Dragging Luciferin with her one night, they observed the waves as they glowed much like themselves. This world was full of wonders that reminded them of their old home in outer space. The simple act of watching the bioluminescent plankton glowing in the kinetics of the sea made her best friend follow in her footsteps to also become a fisher. Anything that reminds her of home is where she feels the most like herself. The soft blue glow of the Starwood Strand was perfect for her, and the Skyward Watchers whom she ran into found her skills extremely useful. She and Luciferin were welcome to stay, regardless of what they could offer them━ the fishing was just a plus! The two of them, along with a few other seafaring dragons of the clan, helped build an artificial lake in the Starwood Strand to supply a little piece of that home to others that they had yearned for so badly. |
