Don't let his silly demeanor trick you; Darling is actually an incredibly talented and smart individual. He's perfected the art of matching his personality to those around him, allowing him to mesh incredibly well with the high multitude of dragons in the Skyward Watchers. However, everyone knows him to be a bit of a fool. He's tired of trying to live up to everyone's standards, so he goes about life, carefree and lax.

STORY
Darling was raised to be a golden child. Look up, smile, overperform. It was exhausting, to feel so fake all the time. It felt like whatever he did, whichever mask he put on for the day, was never enough for his parents. He was never smart enough, never pretty enough, never enough for them. He would never be their perfect little star.
When he grew of age to live on his own, he set out for the world with a goofy grin on his face. Finally, he could be himself! Darling traveled far and wide, eventually settling where his wings seemed to blend with the trees━ where people liked him for who he truly was. He finally felt at home. It took a little getting used to, settling into who he was really meant to be. Truly, he was a learned individual, and the intricacies of the cauldron felt like his calling. While experimenting with personality, he would also be experimenting with alchemy. He eventually met with another like-minded individual: Dearest. She, too, was a starry-winged Aether with a penchant for knowledge. She wanted to be a teacher for the children raised in The Skyward Watchers, specializing in alchemy. From Darling, she would learn valuable information to give to future generations, including their own progeny. |

Honestly such a perfectly lored dragon (I'm biased, his situation is much like mine at the moment). Pretending to be something you're not for the sake of others is such an easy hole to fall into, especially these days. Finding yourself in a world filled with images of perfection is hard, and I admire Darling for his commitment to finding himself! He reminds me of the song Comfort Zone by Yot Club.
