While most of her job is collecting and carrying items that can't be dug or grown in clan Achuean's underground home, Tupana is also something of the clan's resident weather wizard. As one of the few members who excels at working outside, and also due to personal interest, she's gotten extremely talented at reading the signs of oncoming storms in distant cloudbanks and predicting the oncoming day's heat in the thin wisps of cloud at dawn. She wears a cloak to shield herself from the worst of Dragonhome's harsh sunlight, but after accidentally intimidating someone while wearing a black one, Tupana asked Ancilier to brighten it up a little. It's a very good thing she was never in charge of hunting, because now she circles the clan's territory as possibly the most conspicuous thing in it. But at least she won't be scaring anyone.

Part of the reason she's so unenthusiastic about the digging concept is that Tupana isn't a native of earth flight. She met her mate Takiwa when she was apprenticed to a master hydraulic engineer in a neighboring clan to hers, and followed her home like the largest sort of over sized devoted puppy. Unlike most lesbian couples, they can and have had nests together, but that benefit doesn't at all make up for the frustration of being stuck in the wrong body for her gender.
