Born into clan Acheulean from a casual nest between Somnus and Pasque, Takiwa is an engineer and builder. Her love of water combined with her breed's instinct for small tunnels had her interested in the aqueducts and water systems hidden behind the walls of lairs, and her study was greatly encouraged by the clan. She pursued her passion into a career, leaving their territory in Arcane to apprentice under a master hydraulic engineer in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. While there she met her wife Tupana from a Light clan in the Sunbeam Ruins, and for a time they had a long distance relationship as she earned her knowledge of tunneling systems in the Shifting Expanse. But with the completion of her education and the news from her birth clan that they were leaving Arcane to give their allegiance to the Earthshaker, both Takiwa and Tupana made the decision to formally bond. Together they rejoined clan Achulean, Takiwa matured and sharp eyed from her time spent away.

Weirdly, her twin sister Hafwen, who joined Takiwa in leaving the clan as a young adult, also returned bringing a mate with her. However, Hafwen's transformation is much more stark than the internal growth Takiwa achieved. Even now, Takiwa has no idea what her twin did in her time away from the clan, or what caused Hafwen to make the decision to shed her spiral form for the fur of a tundra. The secrets being kept are beginning to effect the trust between the two sisters, or the lack of it.
