Walenai

A young, scrappy Aether who was raised by the founder and his mate, taken in as an egg and raised as though they had been hatched of their own brood. Though the oldest of their "siblings", having been hatched before the two decided to have their own clutch, they still feel a kinship with them and the rest of the family, no matter how vastly different their body and colors may be.

It was truly a lucky chance; Carboden and Seaspray had founded the clan right around the time that Aethers had been reintroduced to the world of Sornieth, and many stray eggs had been lost through that astral explosion. Walenai's was one of those, an egg that managed to perfectly settle nearby the budding clan's new and improved entryway.
It was Seaspray who had stumbled across the odd thing, and recognizing it as some sort of egg at least, brought it back in to figure out what to do with Carboden.
Before they could think too far, though, the egg ended up hatching in front of both of them; a species neither recognized, with odd colors and odder habits. With the emerging Aethers of the surface, Seaspray took time away from their budding clan in order to learn more about the species' needs, while Carboden kept the hatching alive and happy as their clan slowly grew.
Nowadays, Walenai helps the clan in any way they can, from running trips away from the clan to lending a helping claw to keep things in shape. Odd and strange as they may be in comparison, they're family no less, and they feel at home within the Crystalcrag even if some piece of them yearns for the stars still.

• Although they look drastically different, none of their parents' biological clutches have ever questioned Walenai's presence in their family. Sure, their sibling looks a bit funny, but that doesn't mean anything to them!
• Walenai doesn't really have a designated job within the clan, still looking for a passion they lean towards enough. They don't mind, for now, being a jack-of-all-trades; it keeps their days busy!
• Despite being an Aether, Walenai isn't actually nearly as studious as their fellows. Much more of a physical learner, they enjoy going out and Doing Things with their hands instead of pouring over scrolls.
• Close to Rosedust, being the first two Aethers to show up in the clan. They learn more about their species' culture through him, even if they are completely estranged from it.
• Krilex is a Chipskink that their parents ended up encountering while fighting, who ended up sticking around the dragons. They ended up getting close to Walenai, and they've kept them around since!

Walenai approached the Seers carriage and spotted the famed Pearlcatcher, Selenia. They felt a bit nervous, but shook it off repeating to themselves it was just for fun!
Selenia gave a warm smile to Walenai as she polished her pearl that was sitting on the table in front of her. “Welcome young Aether, Walenai. You have come for a general reading, yes?”

The Aether was a bit stunned as they spoke in awe, “You know my name and what I want to ask for already? Wait! You are a Seer…” They laugh a bit awkwardly and rubs their neck as she rests on the opposite side from Selenia.
Without much of another word from Selenia, the magic in her pearl swirls as she begins to speak.

”Your breed is from the stars, however you never got to see your original birthplace for yourself. You were lucky to have the home that you have now. Kindness can be a cure all, but something awaits you in the tides within your home.

Something within your clan will change and it seems you are one of the ones that will be in the center of it. Another calling starts to rise within the sanctuary of the tunnels and many start to feel… different. Some wish for something different from their founders, your parents. They know you stand by them. You are a target and conflict comes your way but what kind? It will depend on who these supposed rebels and liars are… but is their truth in their words?”

The magic in Selenia’s pearl starts to fade as she looks up from her reading to look at Walenai. “How strong will you stand against a mass conflict? Or will you try something else? For this cannot be subdued but it can become much easier.”

The seer's as accurate as you'd hope, but like all things in the Crystalcrag, powers of Sornieth cannot accurately grasp the true intentions within; for while the clan will always hold strong, there's other powers beyond who would love a new domain to fight for.
