They were a creation borne of the fervor brewing within the Devotees...
The final act of Aavaderyat's 10th awakening, the one which would surely destroy us. The most deadly one.
None on this planet will open their eyes. Time and time again we are wiped out before we can forge a single memory of his wrath.
Time... and time... again. We rise. We fall. Now, we must prepare for the final push.
The Aether... the swirling, choking Aether... like a dying star, his last breathe gave birth to horrors unimagineable. They had no name, no mind, no thought... they were raging beasts borne of pure, dense magicks originating from a plane beyond our own. So incomprehensibly powerful, that it warped itself into living, monstrous entities.
They spread fast, far and wide, spelling destruction for all who stood in their path. Yet we are resilient, we who wish to protect this planet, we who wish to preserve our home and right to live. As the millennia has passed, our ancestors and their descendants have been working tirelessly to defend this realm, and continue to study these alien anomalies.
Strangely enough... some have gained sentience. Some have gained thought, and developed the ability to choose. One such entity, who's name impossible to pronounce in mere mortal tongue, has made the choice to aid us. While we struggle to understand his ancient language, we overcome these language barriers in pursuit of a better future for all of us.
We call him the Old One, and this is what he wishes for... a new future for his kind, the Dragons of Aether.
