"Welcome to the history section. If you want to read any of our firsthand accounts, let me know first. It's hard enough keeping these things intact with all the oozing pustules around these parts. The last thing I need is someone getting crumbs between the pages while my back is turned."

"Right. So, what topics are you looking for today? We've got something for everyone here. Are you looking for an account of the First Age? Or maybe you want to learn how we developed our writing system? I would personally recommend the books detailing conflicts between the Beastclans and the various Flights of Sornieth. Fascinating stuff."

Mar is a Wind dragon by birth, but as Fracture says, a dragon's Flight isn't where they're born, it's where their heart is. Which is pretty sappy coming from a guy like him, come to think of it. But Fracture was born on the Windswept Plateau, same as Mar, so Mar thinks he must have felt that same call. It was a tug on his heart, the Plaguebringer calling him home.

He honestly wasn't on board with the library thing at the beginning. The books Phantom brought home seemed silly, things made for hatchlings. But in the trading post he spotted a book on a clan's skirmishes with a fearsome group of harpies--the weapons used, the strategies employed--and he was hooked. This was useful. This was interesting. This sort of book told its reader of the struggles dragons had before, allowing them to follow in their footsteps or avoid their mistakes. Mar looked up to Fracture and Phantom and hoped to become strong like them, and this was the sort of book that would allow him to do so.

Mar now maintains and organizes the Bibliopox's collection of history writings. While his collection covers many aspects of history--inventions, treaties, disasters, and more--his favorites are still the tales of bravery in battle, stories of cunning and courage and the determination needed to push against impossible odds.

Just be careful not to tear any pages while you're browsing, or he might show off some of the things he's learned from his books.
