Salutations! I am none other than the Sir Sylvester Sterling. Pleased to make your acquaintance, pleased to make your acquaintance indeed! I am an archaeologist by trade, although I specialize in specimens of silver: silver coins, silver statues, and most of all silverware, the most authentic of all silvers. Forks, knives, and of course the silver spoon, I find them all simply ravishing, simply ravishing indeed! I am a well-read gentleman, for not only am I educated in matters mineral, but I've also information vegetable and animal. In my archaeological endeavors, I employ a mustelid by the name of Argentus - a Silver Ferret, mind you - to fetch those artifacts that which I am unable to reach myself. His shining silver coat is the envy of the land. But I don't like to brag, no indeed, I do not like to brag!

What horrid luck. I have had a run-in with a most unrefined lady. Her name is Dr. Gloria Gildenstein - although I harbor doubts about the veracity of her doctoral credentials, as she claims to be an alchemist. Does she not know that alchemy was proven obsolete in the 17th century? Nonetheless, she was very adamant that she was an expert in her "field", very adamant indeed, and that she had even turned herself to gold. What a tacky substance, gold is. Discounting the lunacy of her claim, of all substances to transmogrify oneself into...gold? It is such a blaring and undignified metal, reserved only for those desperate to prove something. Silver is much more subtle and sophisticated. But she seemed quite irate at the mere mention of the stuff. Pitiful, pitiful indeed! What's more, she insulted my dear Argentus, referring to him as a mere rat - as if he were not the rarest variety of ferret in Sornieth! Then again, I could not expect less from a woman of this caliber. With an education four hundred years obsolete, I shudder to imagine what other hopeless lapses in common sense she may possess...indeed, I shudder!

I have been paid a visit by a fellow archaeologist to-day! How fortunate, as I was indeed growing weary of the dearth of intellectual rigor in this dingy territory. At first this scholar, Uraeus was her name, seemed to be quite accomplished and well-read. However, the collection she had on hand was quite meager, only consisting of an unusual scale and a quite soiled textile sample. What's more, Ms. Uraeus was similarly unimpressed with my own expansive collection of silverware; seems there is simply a gap in expertise, as any learned scholar would understand the great value of my silver assortment. No matter! While the day's events were quite disappointing, I, Sir Sterling, press on!
