Solace knew from a previous experience with her own younger sister that this dragon's egg coldness wasn't anything to be worried about. She even knew that the egg would hatch if it were placed near water. Sure enough, after taking the egg to a river's edge and gently placing it in the calmly flowing water, the dragon within broke through. She smiled down at her daughter, happy to welcome a second Wave Whisperer to the clan.

Mira's aunt (and Solace's younger sister), who was miles away, and also happened to be standing on the shore of a beach, smiled widely. The waves passed a message to her, telling her to let the rest of the Dark Oaks know of the second Wave Whisperer's arrival.
