The Spirthis Bold Irritable Loyal DETAILS NICKNAME; Sirrie, Haks, Sih GENDER; Cis Woman PRONOUNS; She/Her ORIENTATIONS; Lesbian ALIGNMENT; Lawful Neutral LIKES; Her group, Training, Winning, Hunting, Protecting DISLIKES; Outsiders, Clan wars, Other dragons, People underestimating her and her people, having her size pointed out RELATIONS Hesserk; Father Serthis; Her people ART art1 by credit1 art2 by credit2 art3 by credit3 |
Hesserk, a seasoned Serthis warrior, was not one to be easily surprised. Yet, on that fateful day, as he slithered through the undergrowth of the Shrieking Wilds, he found something that made his scales shiver. A hatchling, a Spiral dragon of the Light flight, lay abandoned and on the brink of death. Now, Hesserk, as all Serthis, was a creature of instinct and survival - not known for sentimentality. Yet, something in the hatchling's feeble cries tugged at his heart. He could have left it there, let nature take its course. But he didn't. He picked up the hatchling, cradling it in his coils, and carried it back to his clan. The Serthis clan was a tight-knit group, bound by survival and shared hardships. The arrival of the hatchling, a dragon no less, was met with suspicion. Yet, Hesserk stood his ground. He saw something in the hatchling, a spark of life that refused to be extinguished. He named her Sirhak, a name that in the Serthis tongue meant 'survivor'. Raising Sirhak was no easy task. She was a dragon, a creature of the skies, while they were Serthis, creatures of the earth. Yet, they found a way. They taught her their ways, their language, their survival skills. And in return, Sirhak brought something new to the clan. A sense of unity, a shared purpose, a family. As Sirhak grew, so did her strength. She became a formidable warrior, her dragon's fire and Serthis cunning making her a force to be reckoned with. Hesserk, proud of his adoptive daughter, crafted a saddle for her back. Together, they became an unstoppable duo, their combined might striking fear in the hearts of their enemies. Yet, even as Sirhak thrived among the Serthis, Hesserk could see the longing in her eyes. The longing to take to the skies, to join her dragon kin. But he knew, as did she, that she was no longer just a dragon. She was a Serthis Spiral, a part of their clan, their family. And for that, she would always have a place among them. So, as the sun sets and the stars twinkle in the night sky, Hesserk watches Sirhak take flight, her scales shimmering in the moonlight. And he knows, no matter where she goes, no matter what she does, she will always return. For she is Sirhak, the survivor, the dragon raised by Serthis. And she is home.
In the heart of the fray, where steel meets scale,
I, Sirhak, a Spiral of Light, did prevail. Raised by Serthis, in their embrace I grew, A dragon among beastclan, a bond strong and true. Hesserk, my father, a Serthis of might, Rides on my back, in the heat of the fight. Together we strike, a force to be feared, A dragon and Serthis, a duo revered. But even the mighty must rest, so they say, A truth I learned in a most painful way. In a battle fierce, I took a blow, And my Serthis family said, "You must lay low." Rest, they said, let your wounds heal, But to a warrior like me, it felt like a raw deal. I am a Spiral, a creature of flight, To be grounded, to me, just doesn't feel right. But for my family, I would do anything, Even if it means clipping my wing. So, I rest, I heal, I bide my time, For soon, I'll be back, in my prime. I am Sirhak, a dragon of Light, Raised by Serthis, ready to fight. And though I rest, make no mistake, For my family, any risk, I'll gladly take. Lore by ErthisiaKay

Quote:
Andria bows her head at the offer of the food. “There is no need to offer anything for my services. I will gladly provide you what you seek without a price.” Even though Sirhak speaks for her father Andria makes sure to direct her conversation towards him as Sirhak translates. “Though I do greatly appreciate the offer and will accept.”
She puts the meat to the side as she prepares to read into the father’s past. “It must have been stressful for you. Raising your daughter in such a different environment than what her race is used too though I can already see lots of love. A powerful tool I feel most do not consider.” The branches from her scales grow as a magic aura emanates from her. “Let us see what you have forgotten.”
I see you holding Sirhak with great love in your heart. She smiles at you as you cradle her in your arms. You knew it was almost feeding time and put her down on the nest as you went to prepare her a meal. A lot of hope resided in you to show your clan what nurturing could do, what love could do. There was even hope, in your brother Havu.
You had a minor argument with him but you felt like he could come around and see it from your point of view. But, as you prepared the food a sinking feeling hit you. With your warrior’s instinct you quickly went to check on Sirhak and saw Havu with malice and hatred in his eyes and a dagger coated in a deadly poison standing over your daughter about to strike. Instantly, you acted without a single thought and threw your spear right into your brother's shoulder.
That is when you felt reality set in as you stared in disbelief of what you have done… but what your brother was going to do was well. Havu hisses at you, “Why do you care ssso much about thisss thing? It hasss caussed nothing but a rift between ussss! It will tear usss apart including the clan!”
You hiss back with anger, “Ssshe hasss not and do not call her ‘it’! You have not given her a chanccce and inssstead ssstick to old idealsss that will hurt everyone in the end! You only assssume the worssse of everything. If you do not want to give her a chanccce give ME a chanccce! Lisssten to me… please.”
Havu hesitates and the anger almost leaves his face but comes back in an instant, “No. I fight for our clan but you fight for yourssself. You are selfisssh and it made you that way.”
His words stung you. All you have given is love but here your own brother said you were selfish. She was just a kid. You feel your emotions bubble and you give Havu a look that makes him shrink into himself, something you had never seen. However, instead of all the rage and hurt you were about to release it leaves. Everything releases from you as you look into Havu’s eyes. You were tired and saddened.
“I give you a choiccce Havu. A choiccce because I care. We can leave thisss here, accept our opinions and understand, and you will not hurt my daughter again or I ssshall tell the council of your misdeed against my daughter. And you know what could happen if I do.”
Without hesitation Havu makes his choice, “Then I make my choice. Tell the council. I am done with you.” Havu leaves both you and your daughter alone in the den. Hurt fills your heart as you hold your now crying daughter closer than ever. You thought he could change just like the rest. Why couldn’t he for you?
Andria goes back to normal with the branches receding back into her scales. “I am afraid that is all I can see into. You did not scare off your brother like you thought you did and instead you gave him an ultimatum. This was his own choosing to leave.”
She looks into Hesserk’s eyes as she tells him, “Some people will refuse to change even for those closest to them. You had a tough decision yourself in that moment as you wanted to hold on to both but you could only hold on to one and you chose your daughter. A good choice but not without a sacrifice. Be confident in your decision though I am sure you already are as I felt back then.
A wound has reopened but sometimes an old wound must be reopened to properly heal.”
