How long were we left to the light?

We look past the crystals and see not the shimmering blue of our home, but the brilliance of a thousand, thousand stars. Each flickering in the distance, taunting us with their unreachable secrets. Desiring ever more knowledge, we were sent forth to observe, to catalogue - drifting ever further, until earth was but a distant memory.

Alone, we could do naught but consume.

We experimented, sending out probes to those long distant planets, knowing that they would not return in our lifetime, or our children's lifetime or even after that.

But, they would return to you, won't they?

We mapped the stars, sought to peer beyond the edges of our universe, tested the limits of our bodies, our magic, our very soul against the harsh void, and sent our own on one way voyages. We began to crave the dark, the black between the stars calling ever louder, reaching ever closer.
It was too late.

Security, safety. Our words could not be written, our truths told only to one, tempered against the light, containing all within.

Our new test. Project: Revelation.
