Keiji

THUMP THUMP THUMP THU-

“What on Sornieth is that noise?” Terios wonders as she walks up to the attic with her Wraith Hound Beryl in tow.

The source of the noise is coming from the property bound spirit Keiji. Who is currently kicking his pearl like a ball.

Terios frantically raises her voice in alarm. “By the Eleven! Keiji, please stop kicking your pearl around, you're going to break it.”

Keiji stops and sighs. “… Sorry”

The skydancer takes a deep breath to calm herself down, and walks over to inspect the mist filled pearl, letting out a sigh upon seeing it.

'Undamaged, good. He's alright.' She thinks, letting out a sigh of relief.

The ferberus Nixra, also came up to investigate the noise with her kitten in tow. Curious, she pads over to her pearlcatcher owner and lets out a concerned meow, Keiji gently smiles and pets her middle head.

Terios' thoughts start to spiral downwards. 'What if I wasn't in the house? He could have dis—'

The worried voice of the spirit breaks her train of thoughts. “Is it okay, it's not damaged, right?”

She shakes her head to clear her mind of previous negative thoughts. 'He's still here, focus on that!' Smiling at him, she replies, “not a scratch on it. But do be more careful with it, alright?”

“Alright, I'm sorry for frightening you. I was bored and there was nothing around besides the mimics. I also didn't want to bother you.”

'I'll have to find an activity for him, kicking his soul bound pearl is not an option.'

“Hmm… maybe playing outside with your feline friends will help ease your boredom a bit?”

“Okay, I can try that.”

“Also this is just a suggestion here, but maybe you could create an art piece for them, and we could frame it. I bet they would enjoy that. Would you like to take your art supplies with you?”

He smiles and nods enthusiastically. “Yes please, thank you!”

“Hey Nix and Void, you guys want to go outside? Terios recommended I draw you two while outside if you're up for it.”

Both felines mew loudly at the chance of going outside.

“Yeah you do? Alright, let's get going then. We can play afterward, and if you two stay as still as you can until I finish, I'll give you treats.”

Excited meowing follows shortly after the word treats.

Keiji chuckles. “Alright, we're headed out then. See you later tonight, Terios!”

Terios smiles, “Alright, I will start looking for frames then, the three of you have a good time. Please be sure to take breaks if you need to, and take your time, there's no rush. I look forward to seeing what you create, see you three later, have fun!”

“We will!” as they head downstairs and outside.

“I sounded like a mother just now, didn't I?” she asked the surrounding mimics, they all grumble and growl in agreement. She sighs but smiles, oh well. “Also Beryl, please remind me to get quick reach items for him in case this happens again, okay?” The Hound makes a mental note and barks in acknowledgment.

'Hopefully it won't.'

Suddenly, Terios feels like something important from before was forgotten about. She stands there for a few minutes thinking deeply, wondering what it could be.

… by the gods!

“THE FIRE PIT IS STILL GOING!!!”

Lore:

A mysterious masked specter that lives among the shadows and dust in Terios' 'new' house, this restless ghostly mass is made up of onyx and cobalt mist, illuminated bones, and eyes of flickering green. This specter was dubbed 'Keiji' by Terios. Keiji's pearl is what allows him to keep his form and is his 'life force' essentially. If it shatters, Keiji will cease to exist in this 'body', and be 'born again' as a new breed. Even though he knows this information, it doesn't stop Keiji from kicking his pearl around like a ball when bored, and picking it up in his mouth to carry it around like a hianu with a chew toy.

He has been diagnosed with ADHD. His symptoms including: restlessness, difficulty paying attention, and most of the time is not able to complete a project (like coloring a picture). He loves to be organized and needs labels for everything, otherwise he can't remember where he puts anything. Terios tends to find him at least twice a week shuffling around at 3:45 in the morning, organizing her collected mimics (as many are grumbling to voice their displeasure at being moved).

Keiji absolutely adores cats. Terios gave him permission to keep the black furred she-ferberus and her two-month-old male kitten that roamed the grounds near the house. The mother was later named Nixra (Nix for short), and the kitten was named Void. Keiji's feathered tail twist is often used as a hunting toy, and Void loves to stand on the specter's skull most of the time. Much to Terios' and her mimics' displeasure, it is almost never quiet, unless it is nap time for all three of them, unfortunately. Chaos ensues daily. Keiji views Terios as a big sister, and Terios over time has come to see him as a little brother.

Note:
Keiji was meant to just be a cursed ghostly dragon made up of bones and mist, but he turned out to be a small reflection of myself. This was completely unintentional, but I am perfectly okay with the end result.
