-Presently, details on the background of the individual who calls themselves Tobi are lacking. For the most part, there's partial blame for this to be had on the fact no one's really bothered to ask them about their life too far back before their current condition took hold. And Tobi themselves has never desired to talk about their life. Anyone who knew them before now has never crawled out of the woodworks to shed light on their life, and at this point, it's unlikely they ever will. What is known though, is that at some point Tobi surrendered themselves to the SAR Facility. They documented to the staff there how they had experienced suddenly turning into a grotesque centipede-like monster and how they'd been stuck like that for a week, before finally shedding their extra parts to return to normal.... mostly. Even the staff could see that they hadn't fully returned to normal, eyes discolored and insect-like, jaw still capable of splitting apart into horrific mandibles, chitin running across their spine and their ribs that jutted out like crawling legs. ... And according to them, the only thing they can remember doing in the week before this change that was different from their normal routine was engaging in a very heated online argument about a video game. ...... Someone getting cursed over online discourse was definitely a first. It was only natural that the SAR staff didn't take them as seriously as Tobi wanted. Their time spent as an anomaly for study was incredibly brief, perhaps only a month or so, before SAR apparently lost interest for some inexplicable reason. With their very co-operative and mild nature in mind, they were allowed conditional leave from the facility - the condition simply being observation with the only staff member who seems to have remembered them. The two of them now live quietly in the Starwood Strand, managing Tobi's monthly changes, while Tobi works on clearing their name after that argument that may have cursed them - by developing their own video game, obviously. ..... Tis a slow process, art was more of their thing than coding apparently.
-Tobi is something of a very solitary person by nature. There is their streaming to bare in mind, with them often doing either art based or game dev based content, so they know how to perform for a camera certainly. Maintaining a relatively mellow energy about themselves, peppered with a playful rudeness and bratty cuteness, that often goes hand in hand with intentional or overplayed stupidity as might be expected. They may be a bug, but it is FAR more profitable to hide that and market themselves as a 'catboy' instead and that's the kinda attitude such an audience might expect, they've found. It's just a performance, though. The actual Tobi hasn't left their house in years, prefers exclusively non-verbal communication, and would really prefer to spend most of their day sleeping in the pile of unwashed blankets and clothes in their room. Only getting up to eat whatever's the easiest thing they can grab, or if their roommate borderline chases them out their bedroom to shower. Tobi is a complete and utter depressed slob. Apathetic and exhausted constantly. If you ask, they'll point out it does take a lot of energy to be a centipede every month so OBVS they're gonna be exhausted, ugh, and they may have a point.... but it's not gonna kill them to wear a little deoderant or change clothes! Yeesh!
-Not Partnered, they need to get their situation together before that ever happens.
