Zilraeos

History
Zilraeos was one of the original dragons that founded the Ashvallen Institute, and (supposedly) originated from the oceans near the Driftwood Drag. Born somewhere between the border of the Water and Shadow Flight's territory, he ended up being exiled from his original clan shortly after being born, in a bid to "let him choose his fate" that was actually a thinly veiled dislike of dragons from other flights. Longing for the oceans of the Sea of a Thousand Currents but simultaneously never wanting to return due to the potential for him to run into his old clan, he went to the surface to the other place he could - The Tangled Wood.
In the rivers of the Driftwood Drag, having begun the grand search of looking for his charge, he ran into Qualzekin, who was being attacked by a large and hungry Pronghorn Stomper on the bank of the river that they didn't have the necessary strength to fully defeat. So Zilraeos helped them kill it by whacking it with his head into a nearby tree, allowing both of them to deliver the killing blows to the Stomper.
A while after that event, the two of them found that they had a lot in common. They became partners because of this, and even after Qualzekin returned to most of what their life beforehand was, their love remains as much of a drive as it did in the early days of what their clan was.
The decision to found the Astravallen Institute was mostly Zilraeos' idea after they'd met a few more dragons and formed a ragtag group of Shadow dragons from the Tangled Wood, it fulfilled the search for their charge rather well and they've made a promise to themselves to protect the clan for the foreseeable future. They're pretty happy with how things are going as it stands.
