Qiǎo Huì ⯎⯎ The Clever Gem
Yama sauntered past Naga, who only nodded in understanding. They moved past the now closed shops and shuttered homes of the "normal" residences of Arcadia. Echoes of clinking metal and claw are the only sound within this place, replacing the shrill laughter and bustle this place once had. They climbed towards the crown of the Arcadian Cavern. Up on high, observing all, is the Leaders Rest- now known as the Glitched Loft. Both the deepest entrance, and the highest spot is reserved for those of Naomi's Kin, and others' of glitched blood, in the unconventional corridors of Stone, Plant, Pustule, Mycelium, and other affects from the sheer cacophony of life that inhabited this place. Twas lit by magic of unknown and known degree: Electricity and Magic power this place. Click Clink. It was as if death had befallen onto everyone in this place. Yama's spine tingled. Yama began to ascend through the Glitched Loft. Much like a peasant having to climb to the top of a god's shrine. Yama chuckles at the irony, the chuckle echoing as if mocking the judge of the head. Click Clink The god, ascends, and meets another. Eyes both Icy blue and Plague red. A familiar face, with an unfamiliar expression. A smile that rings of a trickster fox. This wasn't Rui. But, it was. "Yama. It is nice to see you again, dear friend." The voice rang in a sickly sweet tone. Rui was formal. Rui was monotone. this was not him. "I have made tea, dear friend. I would like to discuss your visit here." Rui smiled. Rui never smiled, bearing his teeth like he was. "Why, my dear friend, have you visited?" "You wanted to have tea with me dear friend" Yama's reply slid smoothly out- The lies from a god should be able to fool any creature. A calm expression rests along Yama's features. She gently motioned towards a bag she carried. Inside, are empty vessels. a clear sign from Yama. "I have brought the vessels for life, after all. You only invite those to tea... when you wish to experiment." Another lie. This pretender should not be able to tell. "Do I? It seems I cannot remember." The impostor opened up a fan, fanning himself as he walked towards the main building of the Glitched Loft: the home of Yama's dear friend. "very well. Let us... experiment."

Yama tried to pull and bind the shade, roughly similar to how Dima did to the previous nest with them: . It did not work correctly. The howling from the Shade controlled body of Rui was evident. Thus, Yama fled, arms holding the vessels close. Yama took the empty vessels, full of bubbling shade and soul, and did their best binding what they were able to extract. Haphazard, at best, but secretly aided by Tialli, who crept out after Yama. Yama was able to remove little of the Shade from Rui. They had failed. Then, to Yama's dread...
The Vessel's began to crack.
One has more shade than the other. Rui is Not healed. But these hatchlings seem to be able to act independently ,and so... the names: Kuí Nà, for the more soul and towards the other... more shaded hatchling, Yīn Mírén. The young drake cannot help but glower at her companions as she sits through the next lecture, the Grand Scholar's voice droning on and on in her head. She can hardly call them that, really. Acquaintances at best. But she knows why their voices lower, their eyes darting to her as she tries to simply take her notes. She's heard the rumors. Vessel. Shade-touched. Soul-walker. Monster. She couldn't control that. How could she? This was how she was made. She'd been the result of some sort of experiment with Yama, a god, and Rui according to the list. Everyone knew something had happened to Rui. Everyone could tell with her older half siblings, the Imperial brothers. None had truly appeared like the icy delegate of old. Pinks, blacks, oranges and reds. So many turned, so many changed. And then there she was, clearly different, clearly shaded. Who else had shadows that swam on their bodies like her, after all? She'd been swept up early on, trying to find her place in the world through the name Yama gave her. Graceful leader. She would shine like a star, and she would hold the attention of those around her like her godly parent. WiP is a WiP (sets off on her own to become her own drake, winds up in Sailuma and scrutinized, Asphodel kinda understands her being more soul than shade because of her own line of work, currently trying to make her way in life).
Name Meaning/Origin
Kuí Nà (Kuí (魁), which literally translates to strong chief or strong leader, combined with Nà (娜), which translates to graceful, roughly translates to mean graceful leader) was the name given to Huì by her parents. She does not know why they named her this. Her book might have something written about it, but she hasn't seen it yet (aka, waiting for what Endyr does with the nest lore for her and her sister).Qiǎo Huì (Qiǎo (巧), which translates to timely or skillful, combined with Huì (慧), which literally translates to clever, roughly translates to timely intelligence) is the name Huì took for herself when she made herself at home in Sailuma. She usually introduces herself as just Huì, though most documents show her full name if she ever needs it. Few know her birth name, and she likes to keep it that way. |
