Of Chiron’s five siblings, Phorai is the one who sends him the most letters. When I asked him why, he just said that she’s very curious and can’t wait until she can explore the world for herself. Her letters are mainly full of questions about all the places he’s been. He says that she has an entire wall plastered with maps and that he hopes that he’ll be able to take her on a long trip one day.

This correspondence made me nervous. What if Chiron was writing to her about me? Could that compromise my position?

So, I took it upon myself to find out. Chiron tends to be out on business, so reading his mail isn’t too difficult. Lucky for me, Chiron is very careful about steering clear of business in his letters to Phorai. It’s almost funny. Chiron hates his job. His boss knows he hates it, I know he hates it, his dead father knew he’d hate it, and here he is, writing to his sister like he’s having the time of his life.

Phorai eats it up, too. She asks about the flora and fauna, about the cities, the dragons, and even takes interest in the beast clan dynamics. Chiron writes back with as much detail as he can without sacrificing his aggressive positivity.

Unfortunately, my investigation ended there. I did a sloppy job resealing one of the scrolls and Chiron caught on. He hasn’t confronted me about it, but he takes all his mail strait from the couriers now, and I haven’t had the opportunity to learn anything since.
