Korvax could feel himself changing. It was slow, subtle, but it was increasing in pace. The corruption. Her corruption. Tiffany, the poor thing. She didn't mean it. All she wanted was a friend after centuries of wandering the void of space alone.

It was worse than Korvax thought. A letter came one day from Geoderoot Clan, from a dragon named Salem. A bloodseer, she foresaw a future of chaos, where Tiffany's corruption spreads across sorneith, transforming dragons into distorted mirrors of herself.

But there is a chance to prevent this future, Salem says. Her letter lays it all out. With her help, they can have a clutch of eggs and imbue them with what power Korvax has that remains uncorrupted. These children will then work with Korvax's siblings to contain Tiffany's corruption while Korvax attends her 'birthday party' and keeps her distracted.

Assim finally understands the work cut out for him. To hold onto such great powers, as his father does his best to stop the horrible end as we know it. While he mourns the distance between him and the rest of his family, he understands why it was done and is glad that they're all alive.
