Biography

Starfire
The Chaotic Astronomer

"My colleagues may call me crazy, but the chaos helps me think creatively. Sure, I may not know where my notes are, but I always know where the stars are! Wait... that one's not where I remember it."

Amongst the Southern Icefields is a small mountain home to an observatory and a large complex of tunnels and rooms dug out of a system of natural caves. This is the lair of Starfire, the greatest astronomer the Ice Flight – if not all of Sornieth – has ever seen! Starfire the Wise, Starfire the Great, Starfire the Charter of Stars and Discovered of Planets.

Or so he claims.

Starfire has established himself as quite the figure in the world's astronomical scene. While his claims of being the greatest astronomer who ever lived might be an exaggeration, he certainly has a knack for stars. Initially serving as the apprentice of an astronomer of the Arcane flight, Starfire and his mentor had a falling out over organisation. His teacher was well-organised, preferring to label everything in a strict system so that it could be easily accessed later. Starfire was more of a hoarder of knowledge, though the hoards would be a nightmare to navigate for those not acquainted with his way of thinking.

Eventually, Starfire bid his master farewell and set out to found his own observatory, proving that his way could work. Sure enough, he returned to his native Southern Icefields, where he built his observatory, marking the start of his lair. He made many readings and calculations on the shifts of the stars and their meanings. He proved his master wrong when he published a series of cryptic and chaotic tomes that, while a bit all over the place and in need of some translating to more conventional academic language, gave new insights and provided much knowledge.

To further his astronomical quest, Starfire has begun surrounding himself with a wide variety of misfits like himself. Ranging from things that make sense given his profession, like an experienced Moon Priestess, to jesters and random dragons he plucked off the roads. Needless to say, Starfire's Lair is a colourful lot that divides dragons. Some pay a curious visit to the mad astronomer's lair, while others give the place a wide berth fearing that it might rub off on them if they get too close.

Starfire doesn't mind either way. He's probably busy calculating whether or not that one specific star moving 0.02 degrees north will herald the destruction of Sornieth.

No, it won't.
