Past

Macarino's story differs, depending on who's telling it. Nobody knows for sure, but a couple of theories have stuck around.
If you were to ask the local dump-dwelling pack of possums, they would tell you that Macarino was a regular noodle once, but Macarino magically sprouted eyes and willed Macarino into life. They claim that Macarino holds much wisdom, but only shares it with those Macarino deems worthy. The discovery of Macarino brought many other possums to the dump, curious to meet the mystical uncooked being that's guarding all of them. Macarino is a great friend and valuable member of the Possum Posse.
Most other dragons simply dismiss Macarino as a failed art project someone threw out. They believe the possums have too much of a wild imagination. They think that there is nothing special about Macarino, that Macarino is merely what Macarino appears to be on the surface- a pasta with googly eyes. Nothing less, nothing more.
Perhaps there is some truth in both stories. Macarino did, in fact, start out as an uncooked noodle on the dump, but what led Macarino to becoming Macarino is far more magical than most folks give the dump credit for. Macarino, as a basic noodle, sat buried under garbage for many months, until one faithful day, a dragon came by and tossed a whole bag of googly eyes on the pile. Through sheer coincidence, a pair of eyes landed exactly at one end of the pasta. It would take many more months until a young opossum digging through trash stumbled upon the creation and brought Macarino home. Nobody knows for sure, though.
