 ‎ ‎ The Forgeborn were a revered clan of warriors whom evolved rigid, lustrous scales resembling metallic plates, protecting the majority of their bodies. This natural inborn armour granted the Forgeborn an advantage over their more vulnerable neighbours, who eventually came to see them as an authority through force or negotiation. The Forgeborn were equally skilled in the practice of governance as in combat, and leveraged their strength as a deterrent for those who would oppose their reign. Though their influence spanned the entirety of the Theizak, a mountainous tundra region, its occupants seemed relatively content living under the Forgeborn’s rule; their fealty provided new safeties and higher political standing, albeit at the cost of tithes or conscription.

 ‎ ‎ Among their most elite combatants, the Honorguard were a class of sentinels tasked with chaperoning the Forgeborn’s most influential nobility. Their responsibilities included escorting said aristocrats to and from influential meetings and subsequently fighting the battles they’d draw-up from the safety of their councilrooms; essentially whatever their handlers deemed worth asking for, the Honorguard were honor-bound to provide.
