Platesing was not born into Glass Clan. She was hatched on the Windswept Platu, and whale traveling there, Silverstep stole her from her nest and brought her into Glass Clan, claiming the dragonet had been abandoned. Platesing is clever, quiet and independent, but has difficulty focusing on her duties and is known to run off unexpectedly. She rarely speaks, to the point of being nearly mute. She's a talented hunter and fighter, and Glass Clan has bright hopes for her future.

She has been assigned a mate named Boyd, a young Coatl who she nether likes nor dislikes. Their relationship is purely professional, but on their first nesting, they had 5 eggs, which Moondance takes as a sign that they have a good genetic match.
