When the Wildclaw was first graced into the Lightning clan, originally his name was to be Akley, coming from Arkerly (meaning to be associated with trees). However, a communication mishap and illegible draconian writing changed his name to Akbey instead. The young hatchling didn't seem to mind, and so the name stuck.
