Biography

83890445p.png Name: Reboot & Bootstrap
Affiliation: A.A.H.W.
Gender: Male (Reboot) & Female (Bootstrap)
Rank: Undead ATP Soldat/Engineer hybrid

So... what if we tried combining an ATP Soldat and ATP Engineer into one? The brains and brawns of the AAHW, working together in the same body, creating a perfect unit.

That was the thought process behind Reboot and Bootstrap, in any case. From the beginning, they were created to have one head have the abilities of an ATP Engineer, while the other head would have the Abilities of an ATP Soldat, theoretically creating a unit that would make up for the shortcomings of individual ATP Soldats and Engineers. All the malevolence, power, and agility of a Soldat, and all the smarts, leadership potential, and analytic skills of an Engineer.

It was great. In theory.

In practice, however...

Despite owning the same body, Reboot and Bootstrap are always at odds with one another, constantly bickering and unable to make decisions because the other gets in the way. Due each head having its very own, distinctive personality influenced by their respective enhancements, their body is uncoordinated and prone to stalling, with two brains giving wildly different inputs, which, pretty obviously, lead to their death. Sure, they can cooperate, and it's not like they can't do anything at all, but it's all too easy for them devolve into fighting among themselves while making a decision.

Reboot, the left head, was enhanced with the Engineer parameters, meaning that he's always analyzing everything around him, and trying to figure out what the best course of action is. He often tries to make Bootstrap see that she can't act so rashly, but in doing so, ends up overlooking obvious signs of danger. Or well, rather- it's not that he overlooks them, it's more that he's too busy trying to take control of the body. However, due to his analytical nature, he's also prone to freezing up the moment action is needed because he's too busy- well- analyzing, a problem for many ATP Engineers.

He likes to present himself as calm and collected- which he is, technically, but his internal struggle for control with Bootstrap is clear. It's pretty clear that he thinks of himself as superior to Bootstrap, even though they inhabit the same body.

The right head, Bootstrap, on the other hand, was enhanced with the Soldat parameters, which makes her violent and aggressive, and prone to making quick decisions that aren't all too well thought out. She's good at taking commands, as any Soldat is, but can't stand Reboot's uppity attitude, or the way he tries to inhibit their abilities by overthinking everything. In her eyes, the Auditor's instructions for them were clear: lead their base, kill anyone who opposes them, and punish those who don't do as they're told. She's very singleminded when it comes to pretty much everything, and when she has a mission, she'll concentrate on that, and only that, unable to rationally think about all her actions, a problem for many Soldats.

Bootstrap doesn't care about presenting herself as pleasant or anything. If she likes you, she likes you, and if not, she's not gonna pretend she does. She finds herself feeling superior to Reboot, because he's always too caught up in the what ifs, could haves and should haves, while she works in the moment, which is clearly better.

When they died, the Auditor tried making Reboot and Bootstrap the leaders of one of the AAHWs Purgatory bases, but due their constant fighting, that position was quickly usurped by Beryl, who is, ironically enough, a Soldat, and therefor completely unsuited for such a position. Not that Reboot and Bootstrap are much better, mind you- but at least part of them is an Engineer. It's unclear if they're even aware of it, busy as they are blaming their own death on each other.

The only time they are fully in agreement is when the topic of Hank J. Wimbleton comes up, which is to say, they both want him gone. They are from the AAHW, after all, and specifically created by them to think that way.

As a final note, they were Dr. Spatzle's idea, which should come as a surprise to nobody. Some even think that the guy intentionally made the heads have wildly different personalities, just to see what would happen... but that can neither be confirmed nor denied.
