Kryos

I was on the open tundra, in search of a home, when a kind dragon approached me and said “I know you will do great things.” He gave me a sense of purpose. While young and nameless, I sought a name, but Kuro said I would gain it through my actions and personality.
While exploring my new home, I came across a deep ice cave with a biting cold. Within was a cavern filled with dragons sound asleep. They all slept in pairs. The cave expanded to other small caverns with more sleeping dragons. Kuro found me here, quite fascinated by the hibernating lair.
He told me the temperature needs to remain cold here, and often the sunlight will melt the ice cave, he being not born an ice dragon cannot keep them cold with an icy breath. They needed to sleep for a while, our food stores were low, while they rested, we will gather more food and soon be able to awaken them all.
I was fascinated with the hibernation lair, wondering if I’d become part of it when older. While down there one day, the ice above began to melt from the sun and the dragon Lisabet, who normally sealed the ice, was out gathering. I stretched my wings and soared to the top, blasting the hole shut with my icy breath. When Kuro returned with Lisabet, they saw me watching over the sleeping dragons. That day I received my name: Kryos, as in Cryostasis.
As time went on, I grew. And venturing beyond the hibernation cave, I discover a new journey. I met her. She and Kuro had a connection for some time, but it was not for long. Kuro pushed her away, saying there is always a reason. I was upset at how he just dropped her like a rotted piece of meat. She flew off to a nearby mountain, where I found her days later. She looked hungry and thirsty, so I gathered some fish and a bowl filled with water. I offered it and let her be. This happened for some time, until she asked me to stay. The following day, I brought her flowers, and she did for me as well.
I learned her story, she learned mine, we hunted together, nights with each other, and laughed with one another. Soon enough, we fell in love. A nest. Our first clutch of eggs. While we happily talk of our new love, Kuro smiles and says “told you there is always a reason.”
She forgave Kuro, and so I did. He is a mysterious leader, but one that is true to his words and actions.
