The sweet-smelling mists that seep between Phobetor's jaws are not smoke, but dreams waiting to happen. To inhale them is to experience things both real and unreal, vivid and abstract. Though Phobetor himself almost never sleeps, he bestows this gift upon his fellows in the Magistry. At night, they imagine things they could never have come up with on their own, and by morning they put their ideas to the test.

Naturally, Eridanus seeks him out wherever he goes- his dreams are the most interesting ones to wander through. Phobetor deters the little Veilspun, whose presence in peoples' minds tends to interrupt the natural progression of the dreams.
