Biography

Uh-oh, looks like the Deer wandered a little too far from her home lair (576542/Strangeflesh), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Once, the Deer was just a normal deer, in the plagued forests of fat-burning trees. The deer had no name, but it was happy, and it ate the leaves and buds of the trees, and it slept and ate until it could sleep and eat no more.

One day, it was freezing even though it wasn't winter anymore, and it didn't have much fur to hide its body from the cold.
And the deer heard a loud noise in the distance, it saw a great demon, covered in red scales, breathing fire and looking for flesh to burn. He grabbed it, and transformed the deer into a girl and bit into her neck. The girl-deer's blood poured out onto the ground, and the demon drank it all up.

But she did not die. Her new mind held onto her onto her body, as a dragon her ability to heal kept her here. The Deer held still until the demon left, when she was discovered by Someday who thought she was a miracle, which is wasn't, but she couldn't say anything.

And then The Deer left, to figure out what being a dragon meant.

The Deer uses she/her pronouns, please use them for any lore you write. Thank you :>
It was so hard for the DEER because she was not a deer anymore and her new girl body was massgive and large. She could not prance and frolick anymore instead she just had to walk. She came across a road and her deer instincks told her to jump in front of the car getting hit by it instandly.

"Hey" said a voice "r U ok"

"Auaurug" said the DEER because she had not learned any words yet

"OMG" said the voice who her eyes focused on and it was a clone of me. "We are so screwed"

"Not so" said the better clone of me, facing the wall hands folded behind his back and gas mask gurgling pensively. "We can pretend it didnt happen."

"Can i eat it" said my evil clone

"No" said my regular clone

Suddenly my regular inncharge clone pointed at some freak lizards on the ground. "Go get some medical tools" it said "they should be in the medicine cabinet"

The 2 lizards (my homunculi) scrambled over each other and came back fast with rope, lamp oil, and bombs. The main clone put some gloves over his gloves and snapped them tight. "Its time for an operation"

When the DEER girl woke up again she was confused and her head hurt. "What happened" she said and then she startled like a deer becuase she didnt know those words before.

"We fixed your head" said clone "it used to be a deer brain for some reason. Now it's still a deer brain but we installed the entire contents of a speak n' spell into it so you can talk now"

"Oh" said DEER

"That's right. you can say all the other letters too. Anyways bye" and they all clocked out for the day

The DEER was still lost but at least she can talk now. So she went about her not-that-merry way.

The Deer wasn't quite sure what to do with herself. Learning to talk was a mighty task made far too simple. She could speak the words, but didn't quite understand what all of them meant. And she most certainly didn't know how to read them... as she was certain she needed to do to understand what the squiggles on the wooden thing in front of her meant. Stuck in her conundrum (what a fun thing to say! What did it mean?), it wasn't until the small dragon was upon her and spoke that she noticed them.

"Lost, dearheart?"

She turned in surprise to see a Veilspun perched on a boulder. She was almost too captivated by the watery fronds and bubbles of fish floating around her head to speak.

"Me. I am Deerheart."

"Not quite what I meant, but also not incorrect. Do you know where you are?"

Deer shook her head, looking frustrated.

"I know lost. I don't know words on wood. See? There. What mean?"

The veilspun loftily lifted her head to the sign and hummed. She fluttered up onto top of it, streaking water behind her and then down into the grooves of it. She pointed one small claw to the topmost wooden arrow, pointing east.

"This says Worldedge Wetlands. it shows you that you have to go that way to get there."

Again, her claws moved, this time to the wooden arrow beneath it, pointing in the opposite direction.

"And this says Everbloom Gardens. I recommend visiting there some time, Deerheart. The flowers are lovely and the air is fresh. The arrow beneath points longer, farther. Beyond the Glademother's boughs. Is this where you want to go?"

The veilspun waited as Deer tried to think. She did not know any places but home. She knew no names. Maybe that was her problem? To learn more words and to learn how to read more words, she had to visit more places.

"Yes. Go. Want learn. Travel far and learn much. Deer wants very much!"

The Veilspun hummed and nodded, the fish around her bobbing in their bubbles.

"Very well. travel the long path and find your words, Deerheart. Learn them all to your heart's content. Go swiftly with the Glademother's blessing."

And so, with a purpose, Deer started off down the road on her new journey to learn words and places!
