Kindred inherited the family business nearly a decade ago, and still hasn't quite settled into the role as "Funeral Director." Whether it's the people, living or dead, he cannot say. There's peace and fulfillment in his work, but always a nagging feeling.

Guilt, he supposes.

He wished he stepped up to the plate sooner.
When away from his desk, and not in bed, he's often found at his aviary with his pigeons and doves. He's a hobbyist, but raises them as messenger birds or for "dove releases," an older bereavement tradition. To assure their safety on the flight home, Noh, his friend and assistant, have taken to flying with the birds and guiding them back to the loft.
