Biography

Having raised several of her own offspring and two fosterlings with no major casualties, "Auntie Shae" has taken to training hatchlings Hecuba and Tabitha in the surprisingly complex arts of tea sorcery. The girls are delighted to call themselves real witches (in front of their friends at least). Auntie Shae insists they are still apprentices. Breeze and Equinox certainly don't mind. Shae is no pushover, and their girls can be a real handful! Besides, Hecuba and Tabitha are best buddies with Shae's young fosters, Zylpha and Dashiell.

Somewhere along her story, as she became known as a "Tea Witch", dragons started referring to Shae as Chai (which simply means "Tea"). Clanmates casually introduce her as Chai without remembering that the pseudonym was once part title, part shorthand, and mostly a term of endearment. It just stuck. Chai certainly doesn't mind being remembered or called by her former name, but she bought the scroll herself to make the name-change official. She considers it heartwarming and a great honor to have a name synonymous with the brews she crafts and studies.

After a playful rivalry with Espresso, a friend and clanmate who practices a little tasseomancy on the side, a Summer's flirtation turned boiling hot with the changing of Autumn's fire-hued foliage. Chai and Espresso are now steeping in expectations as they await the hatching of the FIVE eggs!

SquashBlossom and CherryCreek were the first to hear and sent harvest treats, hatchling blankets, flowers and gently loved toys to their respective partners/metamors. Messages of love and congratulations next came from Tempest and Tisane's bubbling brood along with herbs and hand-me-downs. Word spread quickly through the lair. Needless to say that hatching day will be *quite* the tea (and coffee) party!
