Dwarfed as he is by most other dragons, Spindle often finds himself overlooked within the cult of Putrefaction, despite being its oldest member. One may be quick to assume this bothers him, but in fact, it's quite the contrary; being his size amid a convoy of vicious giants comes with its own array of benefits: easy reconnaissance of rival clans, requiring less resources to survive, and unparalleled agility.

He uses his diminutive size to squeeze into tight spaces that his fellow cult members can't access— filling his pouches to the brim with scavenged metals, scraps of fabric, and pieces of wood, which he then refurbishes into tools or weapons. While he's typically shrewd and aims for utility over frivolity, he's also a bit of a hoarder, and will happily carry around useless objects for days if he thinks they're interesting enough, or potentially useful to Pestile, the leader of Putrefaction.

His history with the aforementioned zealot is mostly wrought in mystery, but Pestile appears to have something resembling a soft spot for Spindle, thought to be due to the lengthy span of his tenure within the cult. While he's not particularly active in Putrefaction's mission, he brings in a hefty amount of treasure with his skills in bartering.
