Dante Keeper of the void Mate of None Mother Father

Dante swore even as a youngling to help the ancient in keeping the dark fae away even though the stronger ancients told him to stay within the safety of the forest. He didn't want to listen and made his way to the front line either way only to come across a traveling caravan of dragons under attack by the dark fae just outside the forest.

Dante felt exhilaration to finally show that he was strong enough to help the ancients and prove to these dragons in need that he was someone to look up to. So without hesitation he leapt in unbeknown of the large fae that was charging right towards the caravan. The monster was huge, much larger then Dante, and its gnarly horns aimed straight for him.

In panic Dante froze. He had only ever fought the smallest of the fae that managed to sneak past the borders. Just before the large dark fae could ram its horns through him a loud booming voice called out.

"MOVE BOY!" Something rammed Dante away from the attack just in time and the young Skydancer could only watch in awe as a large Obelisk dressed in blue and black with ice swirling around her fangs bit the large dark fae firmly by the throat killing it in purple dust.

For days later, still in awe of the female obelisks power, Dante begged Marigold to let him come with them so he could learn from her and the danger outside the forest to get as strong as her. Even though Marigold was known for having a cold heart with only love for treasure she resigned and let him join after the fifth day.

The rest is history as Dante takes pride in acting like her bodyguard - even though she usually has to protect him.


Years have passed since Dante was charmed and fell for the ice queen Marigold. For years he followed her without questioning as she knew best or so he was told to believe by her. For years he turned a blind eyes to her selective breeding to get the best hatchlings to help her merchant empire grow. He watched how she without remorse threw the unwanted and weak hatchlings into the void lake where they either crawled out stronger or did not... Every hatchling broke his heart, but she kept reminding him of what was necessary for the better good of their family. The gloom tribe tried to steer him away from her cold claws, but he didn't listen. He didn't listen until he had to face his mistakes.

One of his first born survived the harsh test Marigold put them through in the void and came out stronger, but hurt from the void's grasp. His name was to become Kamuy. He was raised by the elderly in the Gloom tribe as his family was yet again out of the forest. One in particular - Clarinet - tried to raise her as her own grandchild. Kamuy grew resentful of his parents and later in life left the Gloom tribe to join the Nightmare Troupe - a tribe in good faith to the Gloom tribe.

Years would pass before Dante came to meet Kamuy again. He had only seen him once when he was still small enough to hold in one of his paws. He could still remember the moment Marigold took the hatchling out of his paws and threw him into the void. Now in front of him stood a strong warrior of his own making. Eyes filled with resentment shock Dante to his core. He could see the love the rest of the Troope had for his son - was he even worthy to say that word? - and he tried to remember if he had ever received the same love himself from his mate. Had he ever shown his own KIDS that amount of love? The answer seemed to clear now as it stood before him. He had not. Watching Kamuy being lead away broke his heart in a way Dante couldn't handle.

Years of repressed emotions started to crack through until it exploded that night. Years of mental abuse and cold shoulders whenever he tried to reach for love that wasn't purely physical had reached its limit. With rage from his very soul he left his ex-mate to crawl back with his tail between his legs to the tribe he once called a family... One he could only beg to forgive him and let back in. He did not feel like he deserved it.

In the end it was Starnight - the unclaimed leader of the tribe - that welcomed him back. She held nothing but pity in her eyes, but she knew he had to redeem himself not to them but to himself and those he failed. This was hoe Dante found himself the new Keeper of the void sea underneath the life tree. Here he would mourn and face the ghost of his past as he helped those who needed the healing and guidance of the void. he would become the light that guided them out of the darkness.

Maybe one day he will truly find what love truly means.
