As somebody who's loved the thrill of the battle, Umberto's wish is simply to become the most renowned fighter on Sornieth. He holds no illusions about this when it comes to him and the Divine Shrine, where he knows he will never conquer all others and has absolutely no wish to. But the rest of Sornieth, where the lands are stable and not mystical like his home? That's free game!

If there's any of Skyfall's descendants who have come to encompass his origins in some way, it is Umberto, who carries a love for battle beneath his bright hide. He might have been considered sinister if he actually held any evil in his heart; it is more like he embraces and cultivates the darker facets of his personality. To him, it is to balance his bright front, one that is not necessarily a lie. After all, he just happens to be made up of a couple extremes, nothing wrong with that. He's rather good-humored either way, and to the surprise of some dragons, he's respectful and even reverent in certain situations. Bother him too much about that last fact, and one will find him raging for a fight. His loyalties are not something to be questioned. The second of Skyfall and Mellow's first nest, Umberto grew to love fighting the second he was able to flail his limbs properly. He pursued any willing hatchlings to spar with, the sessions of which tended to lead to no victor and plenty of parents cleaning them up. There was one hatchling he hesitated to fight for reasons unrelated to his lack of power, though: Maristela, a friend he made one night while wandering about. Maristela became his supporter in his endeavors when he revealed wanting to be a fighter for a living. The Divine Shrine remained his home to return to after spending an entire day in the mainland's many coliseums, building a reputation for himself all the while. No matter what, however, the Divine Shrine held rivals Umberto knew he could never defeat — and that was fine with him, so long as he surpassed those outside of it. One day, Umberto decides that he has to move home bases. It isn't that he dislikes his home; it's that he wants to discover more for himself. What is a warrior if one is not adaptable? With Maristela, who is now his mate, he follows the recommendation of his neighbors and heads for a certain Arcane clan, where some of his childhood acquaintances are. |
