There is an extensive fossil record of pollen grains, often disassociated from their parent plant. Pollen has no idea who his parents are but he's too gorgeous to care. He can't stop looking at himself and the glare of his sparkling beauty blinds him. He has no idea he lives in the middle of a plagued orchard and has a slight bee infestation. That's okay. His bees pollinate the orchard as he admires himself. No one else in the clan approaches him because they like the bees and don't want to accidentally tip him off to his surroundings.
