 A hot-headed, pompous dragon with little sense, Alani came barreling into the Waves with teeth bared, refusing to give up. He burst through the guards even at a young age, and many of the clan's higher-ups were confused as to how exactly he got through. His backstory, and the reason why he wished to come to the Empire, are all completely unknown. He wouldn't tell anyone, and as such they all thought him crazy. In the meantime, Skoll saw a lot of himself in the young Alani, and decided to give him a chance. He and Sol adopted Alani, helping him calm down.

Once he was old enough, it was decided Skoll would turn Alani into a respected Fire Apprentice. Although Alani fought this at first, he soon learned just how much fun it was being able to lead and assist other dragons. He became bossy and arrogant, which was the opposite of what Skoll was trying to turn him into. Regardless, he was good at his job... even if his mediator skills boiled down to "yell at them until they both stop". The other apprentices didn't know how to read him, and no matter how much they tried to be his friend, he just yelled at them until they left him alone. Still, he did become good friends with Rythik at least, for they both had similar personalities.

The first dragon who wouldn't take all of his yelling was Moremi. A warrior and an alchemist, she found Alani really annoying, and in all honesty, hated his guts. Alani didn't like her either, finding her alchemy skills useless, and telling her she should focus more on pleasing Lord Ivarr. But their hostility towards each other didn't last very long. They soon found they had a lot more in common than they did apart, and became pretty good friends because of it. And then, they promised to be married one did. Their rivalry hasn't dissipated, as they still argue over even the pettiest of things, but they always make things up at the end... even if their apologies might seem weird to outsiders.
