Lantana

It feels like every clan nowadays has a weatherdragon. It's just this one happens to take the job literally.

Emerging as a harbinger of prosperity after the Biome Clan's long isolation, Lantana made it her first priority to assert herself as their new rainbow wrangler. "What on Sornieth does that mean?" Englausie had deadpanned, though Lantana refused to elaborate. It quickly became clear that she was a show-don't-tell sort of dragoness. At once, she opted to prove her worth by throwing herself to the sky and using her Wind magic to corral the clouds for the dry and withered earth, bringing just enough rain followed by fruitful sun. Impressed with her skills and delighted by the prospect of more organized harvests, Veridios asked if she would like to join the Biome Clan full time. Lantana agreed without question.

Despite her everyday job of commanding respect from the weather and announcing schedules for sun and storms, few have had the opportunity to get to know her personally. Some joke that she's married to her job with how little time she spends on the ground. Despite being considered a valued clanmate and often being invited to clan gatherings, when she's on her feet, Lantana seems to find happier company in insects than other dragons. She prefers hiding away in the blooming groves that have flourished under her thorough care, befriending the bees and encouraging them to help pollinate surrounding plants. Her home is also separated from the majority of the Biome Clan, residing atop a craggy hill above the canopy. Lantana says it's to keep a better eye on the clouds in the surrounding area, but rumors say that a certain someone living up there has caught her eye instead.

Funnily enough, the only dragon she's tried to open up to is one who she knows can't understand her. Perhaps Lantana likes it this way. She is a creature of no history, after all -- an Obelisk whose sudden sense of breath and presence forced her into being. In an ironic twist, an Ancient with no ability to discuss recollections of the past feels closer to her than her clanmates with written histories that they desperately try to share.

At least with distance, Lantana can hide how much it hurts.
