Moonshadow's long term goal is to become a world renowned alchemist. He is shy around Baldwin, mostly due to the size difference. This started when Moonshadow produced his first successful batch of soylent yellow and the Elder Alchemist's pleased reaction that included a tail swipe that sent the young Fae careening into a (thankfully unused at the time) cauldron.

It was clan-sib PhiloVossi (specifically Vossi, who wanted to suggest a joint project and was paying attention to the conversation) who got him out.

This is one reason MoonShadow wears protective garb. The horns that many clan-sibs wear were PhiloVossi's idea because Matriarch Moonrun often likes to greet family with a head bump.

Moonshadow studies not only Alchemy per se, but it's history and the various accomplishments in the field. This extensive curiosity led him to seek out members of the Alchemist's Tools lineage. This was how he met NyxLight. They shared interests and it quickly grew into something more. Eventually she confessed to him that she would like to undertake to change her genetics. Plenty of times in the past they had discussed the principles, but MoonShadow was impressed by her bravery and confidence in undertaking such a measure. When he got a first look at her transformation from Coatl to Fae, initially he was surprised that it really didn't make much difference as to how he thought of her or reacted to her. "You are you," he assured her "I'll always feel this way about you." and as he said the words, he realized that he was, and had been for some time, head over heals crazy mad in love with her.
