Gatrus was already crazed before ever leaving his first clan when it was overrun with the Shade. Knowing nobody else upon escaping he wandered until he came across another member of his old clan, Cera, who was now joined up with Cid. Not wanting to be left to his own mind any longer, Gatrus attached himself to the motley crew of warriors.
