B I O G R A P H Y

Surge is perhaps the youngest of her parents hatchlings. In true undertide fashion, she practically raised herself. But that was fine. They were a fit species, designed to survive in the harshest hurricanes and daunting depths. She met the occasional maren, hissing and spitting at them until they raced away. But she preferred the solitude of the open ocean, just below the surface. Her scales really shone there. Glittering and refracting until all the foolish sea birds came flapping down into her gullet.

Change came barreling through when she met a strange creature. Small fish followed him and she found herself entranced with his strange patterning. While she had no intention to follow him, the undertide's thin and bony exterior struck a cord of pity and she found herself chasing after him, throwing seals and hefty halibut at his snout. He was equally confused by this courtship. But he eventually relented and began to eat. The small fish circled around her too until she found her scales extra sparkly. They slowly began to bond. Surge offered food, he offered a cleaning service.

____Though Surge was quite strong, her dexterity could use some help. She'd grown complacent, settling down with her spiny companion. Since she didn't explore the oceans for hours upon hours, when a hurricane suddenly wrapped up the entire ocean, she went with it quite unwillingly. Surge flew, for the first time in years. She found herself launched into the air and then immediately slammed into the ground. Her mind, unable to handle the rippling agony, sapped away into darkness.

____When she returned to life, a rather fearful mirror stood before her. Though she could not speak, her terrified, hungry intentions were obvious. The mirror, who she'd later learn to be named Miran, provided comforting sounds, food, and a place to stay.

____In the beginning, Surge did struggle. She was alone and unable to communicate. Also, her wounded wing and tail made it impossible for Forras and Miran to, in good conscience, allow her to leave. She had to heal. Without her blessed water. Without her companion, who was surely starving by now. But she learned. The common tongue was brutish in her opinion but she made do. Surge made the occasional friend, bonding with some of the other aquatically inclined dragons. But most of all she longed for a being to relate to.

____He found her! Glorious day! They were reunited and Surge had the joyous entertainment of teaching him the foul language. They made their own separate den which connected to a flooded underground river. They slunk through their own small tunnels and watched the rest of the den buzz around like bees. They were not alone, but they were finally together.
