 A dragon through the smoke
It's really not her fault. She lied but not enough to get her into this. She just an earth dragon who's gotten really good at faking magic due to reactions between crystals and minerals. Honestly, she is pretty typical in terms of earth dragon talents. She just found a way to make more gold through her talent. Selling "magical" crystals really shouldn't have gotten her into this mess. To be fair, how was she supposed to resist a bag of gold dropped at her claws for magical crystals.

Now, she's in the mines with a mirror who sees more than he should and a smothering spiral trying to find "magical crystals" and a way to some sort of chamber. She tells herself a cult and a business are barely any different considering how both leaders consider themselves supreme and force others to listen. Something is different about this. But Cassandra isn't paid to think, which is good because she doesn't want to. She wants to get paid and get out. She just has to avoid that fae who stares a little too deeply and got a little too magic-y when a large portion of tablets containing alchemist recipes were found.
