Biography
Darlune
Who Reflects the Moon
A paladin of the deep, blessed by the Lightweaver herself. Darlune has the ability to wield both light and water magic.
Officially, Darlune answers to the call of both the Lightweaver and the Tidelord. Ever since the Tidelord went missing however, Darlune has been on a journey across Sornieth to look for his missing deity.
His sword Aldrafgr is a holy sword blessed by the light of the Lightweaver, and his body is marked by a charm that signifies his dedication to the Light.
With the light of Aldrafgr, Darlune roams the lands, protecting dragons and beastclans from the threats and dangers of the wild. He is praised as a hero for this, but deep down, he wonders if he's worthy of these praises. Darlune is afraid that if people really get to know him, they wouldn't like him nearly as much.
Sometimes, Darlune will come upon the light of the moon reflecting upon the surface of a lake or river. In rare moments like these, Darlune feels something strongly pulling him. He can't really explain it. It is like a longing for a place he has never been.
As one of the few dragons known to wield dual elemental magics, it was not long until Ashmane found him. It isn't normal for a dragon to be capable of more than one element at once. Even when blessed by another deity, gaining access to a whole new element is practically unheard of. As such, wherever Darlune goes, he is usually the talk of the town. Not only by the scientific and arcane, but even common folk are interested in his powers. It honestly gets him down sometimes. Like dragons can't see past his powers for who he is.
Unfortunately, he doesn't quite know why he is able to wield two elements. All he knows is that ever since he swore fealty to both the Tidelord and Lightweaver, he had been able to wield both. Of course, many other dragons tried to do the same, to seek the blessings of two draconic deities. But it never gave them power beyond their natural element.
Many thought Darlune was special. But he just didn't feel the same way.
When Lady Ashmane came into his life, he had mixed feelings about meeting another with dual element powers. He was intrigued to see someone with the same abilities he had. He was mystified that she too has no idea how she got her powers - doubly so because she has never met either the Lightweaver or the Windsinger. And he was happy that he finally had someone who could relate to his feelings. Ashmane was the sort of dragon who treated everyone equally, regardless of powers or status.
But also, deep down, he's jealous that Ashmane had been able to live so carefree. That she had been able to live life as herself. Darlune has never been able to do that - he had always been valued because of his powers. In some ways, he blames his twin elements for isolating him from his fellow dragons.
Before meeting Lady Ashmane, he never realised he had these feelings.
