These commonly known reptiles are used as a household pet more often than not due to their manageable size, bright colors, easy care, and calm temperament. They are most commonly found in the central United States and Eastern US. They are considered constrictors and wrap around their prey. Their diet consists of small rodents, bird eggs, and other reptiles.
They reach sexual maturity due to their size and not their age. They have a cooling period which can last from 60-90 days which is to get them ready for breeding. Egg laying will occur around one month after breeding and may have a clutch of 12-24 eggs at once. 10 weeks after the egg is laid the little sneks will hatch!
