Hans

sociable | arrogant | trait Hans is known around the clan for his arrogance and somewhat snooty behavior. He takes social class to heart and considers those of the second platform less than worthy of his children, and the lowest platform less than worthy of attention. He also enjoys social gatherings which he more often than not hosts, inviting only those of the highest platform, as well as any of Kairi's friends, who, to his displeasure, aren't always on their level. Hans considers his family's standing and reputation among the highest priorities. As such, he encourages each child of his to follow an honorable path he sets before them, one that both benefits the family's image as well as suits the life he feels a child of his own should have. While this is always meant well, it appears forceful at times and can strain the relationships he shares with them. Despite his difficult personality, he does have a soft spot for his family. While he cannot express it, he cares for his children greatly and prizes them above his own vanity, though can forget that himself at times. He also heeds to Kairi, despite rarely ever actually seeing things her way, and looks past social standings when she requires it of him.

Family notes
Roxas
As his first born, Hans made the error of forcing his ideal lifestyle upon the family heir. There was always a standard he felt had to be achieved by the head of the family, and so he constantly wanted Roxas to aim higher, which ultimately made his son feel as if he, himself, was not what his father wanted. One day Roxas approached the family with his new mate, Sally, and that ended their relationship. Hans refused to accept her, as she was of a lower class and a Pearlcatcher, resulting in Roxas abandoning his place in the family in favor of someone who accepted him as he was.

Despite the sudden and disagreeable outcome, Hans still considers his son to be a part of the family, however will not admit it to him. As he always had, Hans continues to cherish Roxas for who he is, no matter what he thinks.

Duchess
Their first daughter. Duchess is Hans' pride and joy, as she willingly embodies everything he feels a female of her standing must, and does it perfectly. She's also the most respectful to her parents, and mated to a dragon worthy of her. As the second born, the role of heir passed to her once Roxas left.

Ava
She is very unlike her father in that she's very gentle, dislikes politics, and views everyone as equal. Even so, the two are rather close. While not the openly-affectionate type, Hans does remember that she is the youngest of his children to remain with the family and treats her as such. Ava was chosen to inherit her father's garden, a task that she is most happy to perform.

Sally
Roxas' mate and one of the causes of their strained relationship. Hans originally rejected Sally as a choice for his son, and to a point still does, due to her being a Pearlcatcher, of the same element and clan as Leronde, and a lowly seamstress. Since the fight, however, he understands that he may have been wrong to reject her so quickly, though still remains skeptical at the idea.
