Clockwork Dragonfly: Type, Undertide
Clockwork Dragonflies, what are they?
This variant of clockwork has been seen flitting about where the Highland Scrub meets the beaches of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, darting about in both the skies and waters, or sometimes winding through the sands. Like other Clockwork dragons, one will notice they are unusually cool to the touch, and a faint clicking can be heard as they move. Dragonflies have been noted to take the forms of Spirals and Undertides.
Dragonflies are hailed for their speed and agility as they move. While not as aggressive as their Hornet kin, these clockworks are no less dangerous in combat, striking quickly and precisely when fighting. They have been observed mostly moving too and fro, watching and following those dragons and beastclan members who move about the Shifting Expanse, but no other actions taken.
They are noted for their segmented form, glass-like wings, and fluid-filled capsule making up their underbellies. They seem to be able to work tirelessly, so long as the capsule is full. What the fluid is, however is unknown.
One who has managed to gain a Clockwork Dragonfly in their clan will be rewarded with a highly skilled scout, and deadly accurate attacker.
Crystalized Sub-type
Crystalized patches or protrusions indicate a Clockwork has taken sever enough damage that the mysterious fluid that powers them is required to patch damage that could otherwise prove crippling. It has been observed that the fluid hardens and crystalizes upon contact with the air, instantly sealing the damaged area. Oddly enough, the crystal patches do not seem to impede or hamper the dragons movement.
Factory Seconds Clockwork
Hm, something's not quiet right about these Clockworks. Maybe the colors of their carapace or wings are off. Sometimes it's that the fluid filling their bellies, (when it hasn't leaked through weak-points in their shells), isn't the right color, consistency, or composition. How curious, however, despite these... oddities, they seem function as normal for a Clockwork of their typing. There is the occasional glitch or hiccup, but they prove themselves to be loyal clan members regardless.
