neither of georgette's parents are of flesh and blood, and neither is she.

oh, how they toiled in the scarcity of the boneyard to make each of their children a body. georgette hatched first, nothing but a slip of magic, tucked against her father's breast, tangled in his mane. for her, they used the finest things they could find, even if it was but a few scraps of silk from a rundown caravan, or a finely tooled leather. oh, yes, when she was finished she was a marvel of craftmanship, a counterpart to both her rundown parents.

she was so enamored, watching them craft her body. yes, she thought. i could do that. but she would not be constrained to mere fabric and prosthetics. there were enough spare parts strewn upon the boneyard. she figured she could do it with flesh.

and it turned out she could. one limb transferred to another. teeth. skin. anything, it turns out, she could make into its own patchwork.

the plague dragons it worked well on - their magic is elastic, adaptable, and they are impervious to the fright of rejection. though she left her small clan early in her career, she started to be sought out by the masses. it was not safe to do as she did in the middle of the thankless boneyard, and so, a search for a base of operations began.
