it was the runt of its clutch. it was weak, and sickly. the meat was left to fend on the fringes of the scarred wasteland, wandering through the abiding boneyard on its lonesome. reduced to nothing but prey. in the end, it would give back to the earth, and renew the cycle of life and death. yet it seemed the plaguemother had other plans, for the maladies that clung to the meat spread beyond itself, infecting all who’d preyed upon it. thus it fed, and grew, and became strong. makh would give back to the plaguemother, spreading her diseases. it spares none— survive its contagion, and be found worthy.
